Supporting a carbon capture and storage project in Canada
We’ve been awarded an engineering services contract by Shell Canada Products for a large-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) project.
We’re providing front-end engineering and design (FEED) services for Shell Canada's proposed Polaris CCS project. The project would capture carbon dioxide (CO2) from the refinery and chemicals plant located at Shell’s Scotford Complex near Edmonton, Canada.
The Polaris CCS facility is expected to start up around 2025, subject to a final investment decision by Shell expected in April 2024.
“Working with Shell Canada on its Polaris CCS project reinforces our commitment to helping our customers navigate the energy transition. Refining and chemicals production are traditionally carbon-intensive processes, so capturing CO2 emissions from this complex closely aligns with our purpose of delivering a more sustainable world,” said Karen Sobel, Group President, Americas at Worley.
