Oil and gas have a role to play in supplying the world’s growing energy needs. But when we burn fossil fuels, or smelt mineral ores, sulphur dioxide is produced, emitting toxins into our atmosphere. We help our customers find solutions to reduce these emissions and support their net-zero goals.
With our colleagues at Worley Chemetics®, we cover all parts of the sulphur value chain. We remove sulphur components from hydrocarbon streams and recover it as elemental sulphur. We transform the sulphur into sulphuric acid, which is used to produce fertilizers in the mining industry to extract metals from ore.
We continuously develop our technologies to reduce emissions and costs for our customers. We own technologies such as SUPERCLAUS®, EUROCLAUS® and BSR-amine systems and we work with our partners to offer a robust gas treating solvent portfolio.

Our tailored designs minimize emissions from sulphur handling units while reducing both long-term operating costs and the overall capital investment.

Our background in gas treating technology enables us to help our customers study and implement CO2 capture in new builds or existing plant configurations. We support in evaluating technologies and studying the integration of carbon capture within SRUs, and we provide the basic design and engineering packages. We also developed our own carbon capture pre-treatment technology and are working on a solvent reclaimer in this industry.
Worley’s subsea expertise and world-class flow assurance capability allow delivery of subsea systems that maximize production from subsurface assets. This expertise has led to the development of our Pseudo Dry Gas Technology that facilitates longer subsea step outs as the industry develops longer and deeper reserves.
