Expanding production of mined fertilizers

We work with mined fertilizers producers to increase supply responsibly and profitably. Our support extends from early phase studies to megaprojects, scoping studies, detail design, EPCM, operations and remediation.

This includes the complex process technologies needed to manufacture phosphate fertilizers including phosphate beneficiation, sulphuric acid, phosphoric acid, and granulation techniques.

Our phosphates lab in Florida, USA, offers flow sheet development, plant design and process guarantees. This includes our own pilot plants for phosphate beneficiation and phosphoric acid. We’re the only organization in the world with this infrastructure.

We simplify project execution for our customers by providing complete solutions without involving third party technology suppliers. We remove multiple interfaces by offering in-house utilities, power, rail, roads, ports, and environmental capabilities.

Delivering underground infrastructure for a polyhalite mine

We’re providing engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services for Anglo American’s Woodsmith mine. This underground mine – located south of Whitby in the UK – will expand global supply of polyhalite, a naturally occurring and multi nutrient fertilizer for plants and crops.

The mine features three underground shafts to access this high grade mineral body. Our scope involves sinking two 1600 m service and production shafts, and the 350 m deep mineral transport system shaft.

The project includes a 37 km underground mineral transport system to move the polyhalite from the mine site to a material handling facility for export. The underground conveyer system tunnel runs approximately 350 m below the surface, to avoid disruption to the nearby North York Moors National Park.
