Marking 250 years of US independence and 80 years of Worley in America
Worley was proud to partner with the Australian Embassy in Washington D.C. to celebrate the 250th anniversary of United States’ independence at a special event on July 14.
With more than 80 years of operations in the United States and over 6,000 people working across the country, Worley has a long history supporting customers on some of the nation’s most significant energy, chemicals and resources projects. That enduring presence made the celebration a fitting opportunity to recognize the strong relationship between Australia and the US and the investment, jobs and economic value that businesses from both countries help deliver.
Chris Ashton, Chief Executive Officer of Worley, joined senior leaders from business, industry, government, and the wider community to reflect on the shared history between the two countries and the opportunities ahead. Greg Moriarty, the new Australian Ambassador to the United States, welcomed guests in the spacious atrium, which featured a performance celebrating Indigenous Australian culture and a photo exhibition.

“With more than 80 years of history in the United States, we’ve seen firsthand the value of the relationship between Australia and the US. We’re proud to work alongside customers on some of the country’s most important energy, chemicals and resources projects, helping deliver the critical infrastructure that supports jobs, growth, and energy security,” said Ashton.
“This event was a reminder that the Australia‑US relationship isn't just something discussed in government circles. It’s reflected in the businesses, industries, and communities that work together every day across both countries.
As Worley looks ahead, the company remains focused on helping customers navigate increasing complexity and deliver projects that matter to the world, drawing on decades of experience and relationships built on both sides of the Pacific.
