Bringing your whole self to work, every day
Did you know, 45 percent of LGBTIQ+ people who are not out to everyone at work are less likely to be satisfied with their job and two times more likely to feel down?
We want to create an inclusive environment for our LGBTIQ+ people to bring their whole selves to work, every day. That’s why we’ve signed Workplace Pride’s Declaration of Amsterdam.
This world-leading initiative strives for inclusive corporate cultures where LGBTIQ+ employees feel valued, can be their authentic selves and realize their full potential. Working environments for LGBTIQ+ people that go beyond minimum legal requirements of equality. Active leadership from allies and LGBTIQ+ role models who visibly support LGBTIQ+ inclusive workplaces. And dedicated, declared, and active collaboration between employers and LGBTIQ+ employees to realize mutually beneficial improvements.
The declaration was signed by Worley Diversity and Inclusion Council co-chairs Vinayak Pai, President, Energy, Chemicals and Resources and Vikki Pink, Executive Group Director, People. In attendance was David Pollard, the Co-founder and Executive Director of Workplace Pride.
The digital ceremony also marked International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia 2021. “We are committed to providing a safe, comfortable, equal opportunity workplace that promotes authenticity for our LGBTIQ+ people, and we want them to realize their full potential,” says Tony Frencham, Senior Vice President at Worley and Pride@Worley network executive sponsor and ally.
“We have been members of Workplace Pride for more than two years, and signing the declaration was the next step to building a more inclusive environment for all our LGBTIQ+ people around the world. A benchmark will be set to measure progress, and policies will be improved or created to support a safe, equal opportunity workplace.”
